Citizenship
Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is granted to a lawful permanent resident after meeting the requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

Green Cards
A foreign citizen seeking to live permanently in the United States requires a permanent resident card. A foreign citizen must be sponsored by an immediate relative who is at least 21 years of age and is either a U.S. citizen or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident.

Asylum
Asylum is a protection granted to foreign nationals already in the United States or arriving at the border who meet the international law definition of a “refugee.”

Visa
The U.S. Department of State issues visas to foreign nationals traveling to the United States through its embassies or consulates.

VAWA self-petitioning allows victims of abuse who are close relatives of US citizens and lawful permanent residents to file for status on their own.
